Federico Fellini’s Mysterious Journey

Synopsis

"The most famous film never made in the history of cinema." A documentary that goes on the trail of G. Mastorna’s Journey, the film left unfinished by Fellini, to reconstruct its artistic creation with all its mysteries and forgotten reels. The emblematic figure of G. Mastorna (a role Fellini envisaged for Mastroianni), who after an air accident lands in a gothic northern city suspended between dream and nightmare, remains one of the greatest mysteries of Italian cinema. The non-movie made its only appearance in a courtroom: when the director abandoned the work a year into the preparation he was sued by De Laurentis, who had invested over a billion liras.
